Make the most of the light evenings.

The lighter evenings are here at last and it is pleasant to sit out in the fresh air but often it can become too chilly to continue sitting. To take advantage of these conditions you need a Calor Gas powered Patio Heater. This will enable you to sit outside longer with your favourite drink, perhaps with friends and perhaps augmented by a barbecue!

At Towler & Staines we have a range of Calor Gas powered Patio Heaters to do the job for you. We have the Tahiti Flame Tower at £349.99, the Sahara Nilon at £119.99, the Sahara Stainless Steel Tabletop at £115 from Universal Innovations, the Orchid at £149.99, and the Santorini at £339.99 from Lifestyle.

The Santorini and the Tahiti Flame Tower both have the added plus of lighting to set the mood when the nights begin to draw in.

Can I run two Calor Gas appliances off one cylinder?

Another of the frequently asked questions at Towler & Staines the Calor Gas Principal Dealers is "can I run two Calor Gas appliances off one cylinder?"

The answer is yes you can. On a Calor Propane cylinder you need a Twin Outlet for propane. This is a brass connector which has a POL end to screw with a left hand thread into the cylinder valve and then it has a "Y" shape with two female connection points for the POL connectors on your propane regulators for your appliances. Of course each appliance needs it's own regulator.

A wallblock manifold will also do the job if you need a fixed installation, setting up in much the same way.

What is Calor Patio Gas and why use it?

At Towler & Staines, the Calor Gas Principal Dealer in Bradford and Keighley we are frequently asked the question " why Calor Patio Gas?" We answered this last year at about this time but many people are still asking, so here is the answer again!

In recent years gas barbecues are increasingly designed for propane gas, possibly because butane gas is not available for consumers in a number of countries including the USA and Canada. The original Calor Propane cylinders have a female threaded valve which requires a spanner to make a gas tight connection.

With the arrival of the Patio Heater and the increasing popularity of gas barbecues it was decided that a clip on regulator with a gas contents indicator was much more user friendly and, most importantly, safer. Hence the launch of Calor Patio Gas a few years ago which is propane gas with a clip on connection and a contents indicator. It is in a green and red cylinder and comes in two sizes: the 13kg which is ideal for Patio Heaters and larger barbecues (four burners and more); the 5kg which is suited to smaller barbecues and the Calor Grill 2 Go is specially designed to fit on it.

The clip on regulator is designed to pass a greater quantity of gas than the small propane regulator and is therefore suitable for even the largest barbecue or patio heater. If you have any other queries on this subject please contact a member of staff at Towler & Staines, the LPG Specialists and we will be delighted to help.
