A safe way to spot heat the home

My daughter has two cats and recently had a baby boy; she has always used a Calor radiant heater for spot heating her kitchen, it keeps her central heating bills to a minimum. To give her peace of mind with greater safety for both pets and the baby we have changed to the Campingaz Catalytic Heater which is easily moveable and has three heat settings up to 3kW. A 15kg cylinder of Calor Gas will last 130 hours.

The safe aspect is that there is no naked flame save for a tiny pilot light. It has an oxygen analyser which shuts the gas supply off if the available oxygen level in the room drops below a safe level. There is also a flame failure device which shuts the gas supply off if the pilot light is extinguished.

The catalytic heater was originally designed for high traffic areas in the commercial world but it also suits a home with small children and or pets.
